Auditorium
Nashville,
Tennessee
The Ryman Auditorium was opened by a coverted-to-God steamboat captain as the Union Gospel
Tabernacle in 1882.
Through the years, the building has hosted countless plays and even served as the home of the
Grand Ole Opry for a time.
It is said that the building's founder, Captain Ryman, remains. His presence is especially
felt on show nights.
But, like his thunderous preaching during life, they say he becomes quite vocal during
productions not meeting his standards.
Another presence is the man in gray. He is seen on the balconey, only to disappear when
approached by a curious onlooker.
