The William Penn Hotel

The
William
Penn
Hotel
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania
Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh's commercial district is the classic William Penn
Hotel.
Opened in 1916, the hotel today retains much of the charm and elegance for which it has been
known for nearly a century.
But behind the elegant cornaces and crystal chandaliers are stories of hauntings and strange
occurances in the eighteen story building.
Most of these occurances take place in the reportedly unused portions of the top two floors.
Supposedly a murder took place up there.
Now, night watchman report gusts of cold wind coming from windows that do not open or in
forgotten hallways where no doors are open.
There are also reports of the sound of laughter and movement where there are no people.
Perhaps there are none... Of the living variety.
The historic building is a landmark downtown. But it's beauty and charm is not all that the
Omni William Penn Hotel is known for.
