House
Huntsville,
Alabama
There is a large house in northeastern Huntsville. It seems out of place among the small
mill houses surrounding it's steep ceilings and tall spire.
A look up close during the daytime reveals what is one of the most beautiful houses in
Huntsville. Quite an accomplishment considering the old southern mansions of the downtown
historic districs.
It's legends endure like the house's beauty. They say it is haunted by the nearby Lincoln
Mill's first owner's daughter. She lived a solitary life centered in the spire and died at
a young age.
Old neighbors still speak of how the young lady hid gold coins in the extravagant roofing
tiles of the house. They say she still guards these.
But darker forces are said to guard the house as well. Enduring stories of a strange
cat-like creature with evil glowing eyes are spoken in whispers.
The house survives as some sort of business today, but at night when the lights go out
perhaps that is when the mysteries begin.
